Michael D. Cesaro, Partner, Governmental Department
Michael D. Cesaro is a partner with over 18 years of experience. Michael was admitted
as a Partner of the Firm on July 1, 2005. His areas of expertise include audits
of county and municipal governments, school districts, non-profit organizations
and federal and state financial assistance programs. He is licensed to practice
as a Certified Public Accountant, Registered Municipal Accountant and as a Public
School Accountant in New Jersey. He has also been certified by the New Jersey Department
of Community Affairs, Division of Local Government Services as a Certified Municipal
Finance Officer. Michael graduated Summa Cum Laude from Glassboro State College
(Rowan University) where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration.
Experience: Michael has performed audit services for numerous municipalities,
one county, eight school districts and three non-profit organizations most subject
to the requirements of the Single Audit Act. He is currently the partner in charge
of one county, seven municipalities, four school districts and one non-profit organization.
He has successfully completed the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants'
courses to obtain a Certificate of Educational Achievement in Government Accounting
and Auditing.
Membership in Professional and Civic Organizations: Michael is
a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; the New Jersey
Society of Certified Public Accountants, where he serves as Vice-Leader of the Governmental
Accounting and Auditing Committee; and the New Jersey Registered Municipal Accountant's
Association, where he currently serves as President and Trustee. Previously, Michael
served the Association as Vice-President and Treasurer. In the community, Michael
coordinates and facilitates charitable efforts to assist the underprivileged of
Camden City via his service with the School District of Camden’s District Parent
Center; has served as a member of the Advisory Council for the Food Bank of South
Jersey; and also assisted in promoting childhood cancer awareness through his service
with the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation.
