Stephen E. Ryan is Bowman & Company LLP's resident expert
on authorities and is also responsible for the audits of various local governments and school districts.
He joined the Firm in 1973 and became a Partner in 1988. Mr. Ryan is responsible for the technical review
of all the authority audits performed by our Firm. He is licensed to practice as a Certified Public
Accountant, Public School Accountant and Registered Municipal Accountant in the State of New Jersey.
Steve earned his B.S. degree from Rutgers University.
Experience :: He currently serves as
partner-in-charge of nine authorities, four municipalities and three schools. He is also technical
partner on three other school districts. His continuing consulting engagements include acting as financial
advisor for debt issuances and providing expert witness testimony before boards of inquiry regarding rate
setting matters. He is former Chairman of the Firms Executive Committee and Co-Chairman of the Firm's
Quality Control Program. He previously served on the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants'
Quality Review Committee.
Membership in Professional and Civic Organizations ::
Mr. Ryan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants,
the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Registered Municipal Accountants'
Association of New Jersey. He is a former board member of the Association of Environmental Authorities
(AEA). He is a past President of the 200 Club of Burlington County and the Finance Chairman for the
Haddonfield Symphony.
