Due to certain
defaults on tax-exempt debt issues that have occurred in the recent
past, the federal government, through the Securities and Exchange
Commission, has established regulations which require the continuing
disclosure of selected information included in Official Statements to be
made on an annual basis. This information must be filed with certain
agencies which make the information available to the investment
community. As a result of these regulations, potential investors in the
secondary market now have updated information which they may reference
when making investment decisions.
While the
governmental entity is responsible for making secondary market
disclosures, we at Bowman & Company LLP have the ability to assist
entities in meeting their disclosure responsibilities. In fact, we are
frequently in an advantageous position to complete the information
required, since, in most cases, we have been involved with the
preparation of the Official Statement.
